Thesis Title: GROUNDWATER RESOURCES ASSESSMENTS IN ASTANEH-KOUCHESFAHAN PLAIN, NORTH OF IRAN

About

Masoud Saatsaz was born and raised in Ahvaz, Southern Iran, and he studied at Shahid Chamran University, Ahvaz, Iran where he achieved his Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1997. The B.S. degree did not satiate his enthusiasm for knowledge and he decided to pursue further studies with the focus being Hydrogeology. In fall 1999, he started to study Hydrogeology at the same university and hold a M. Sc. degree in spring 2002. For his master degree, he studied the application of groundwater modeling on groundwater resources management in an arid basin. After his graduation, he began narrowing his interests in Hydrogeology and started focusing more on environmental hydrogeology and modeling aquifer systems. In December 2005 he moved to Malaysia to start working on his PhD at the University Putra Malaysia. He achieved his PhD in Environmental Science  in Nov 2011.

He has been always interested in earth-water sciences. These interests motivated him to do his research fields broadly in the area of geo-techniques, environmental hydrology and hydrogeology, groundwater modeling and simulation, water resources management and hydrochemistry studies. These are puzzle pieces which make his inward interest on earth-water issues.

At present, he is member of Geological Society of Iran, and volunteer member of Peace Water Organization which is a non-governmental organization in Tehran dedicated to protect water resources.
